Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd.'s tire production plants, including Niicheng, Mie Prefecture, Mishima, and Onomichi, are currently producing tires, but due to power restrictions, the factory's production capacity can only be maintained at a low level. Yokohama said that the production plant in Mishima suffered serious losses. The factory mainly produces passenger car tires and light truck tires. After the earthquake, production was suspended for several days, but the equipment and factory buildings were not severely damaged, and the production has been partially resumed. Sumitomo's factory in Fukushima Prefecture has also started construction. The plant mainly produces passenger cars and light truck tires.
Cabot said that at present, all employees of the company in Japan have been safely evacuated from the disaster area, and the destruction of factory facilities during the earthquake is also small. LANXESS announced that it will close its Tokyo-based management headquarters. The new headquarters will be moved to Toyohashi, 250 kilometers southwest of the capital Tokyo, where the Rhine Chemicals plant is located.
