China's "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" will open up the main channel of "Northern Grains and Southern Transportation"

As an investment priority for strengthening grain warehousing and logistics infrastructure construction, China will open up the main channel of “Northern Grains and Southern Transportation” during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period.

According to the “12th Five-Year Development Plan Outline for Food Industry” issued jointly by the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Grain Administration, a new storage capacity of 20 million tons will be built in major grain-producing areas, western regions, and reserve bases; new batches will be built and converted. Dry facilities; to build a batch of low-temperature storage warehouses for finished foods in 36 large and medium-sized cities, and to select pilot cities with relatively mature conditions in 2012. By 2015, it is necessary to open up the main channel of “Northern Grains and Southern Transport”, improve the main channels such as the Huang-Huai-Hai, and strengthen the construction of the Western Corridor.
