China's pesticide imports fell in the first quarter
In the first quarter, China imported 16,000 tons of pesticides worth US$150 million, which was a decrease of 4.05% and a rise of 17.31% from the same period of last year (the same below). The average import price was US$9,147 (t price, the same below).
Pesticides (Customs Code 380891)
In the first quarter of 2011, imports from China's pesticide market declined slightly. In the first quarter, China exported a total of 1,944 tons of pesticides worth US$38.31 million, a decrease of 7.84% and an increase of 11.43% over the same period of last year, with an average export price of US$19,706.
From the point of view of import sources, China's imports of pesticides from the United States, South Korea, and Hong Kong in the first quarter were 432 tons, 416 tons, and 295 tons, respectively, an increase of 47.41%, 251.49%, and 16.18% year-on-year respectively. The import prices were 15.09 million US dollars, 1.79 million US dollars and 38.31 million US dollars.
From the point of view of imported goods, Shanghai, Tianjin and Guangdong accounted for the most important destination of China's pesticide imports in the first quarter, and imports accounted for 66% of the total imports. In the first quarter, pesticides imported from Shanghai, Tianjin and Guangdong were 510 tons, 402 tons and 381 tons, worth 15.9 million US dollars, 580,000 US dollars and 2.06 million US dollars, respectively, an increase of 82.16%, 25.59% and a decrease of 23%.
Fungicides (Customs Code 380892)
From the perspective of the source of imports, the four major sources of China's imports of fungicides in the first quarter were Germany, France, Japan, and the United Kingdom. The import volume of these products was 675 tons, 495 tons, 402 tons, and 395 tons, respectively. The land import prices were 5.69 million U.S. dollars, 7.42 million U.S. dollars, 6.67 million U.S. dollars, and 7.58 million U.S. dollars; from the point of import receipts, Shanghai and Jiangsu were the major import markets. In the first quarter, imports from three provinces and cities were 1,475 tons and 1,011 respectively. Tons, the two provinces and cities accounted for 52% of the country's total exports of this product.
Herbicides (Customs Code 380893)
China's imports of herbicides are mainly concentrated in Shanghai. In the first quarter, the number of imported products was 4,329 tons, worth 31.88 million US dollars, accounting for 60.5% of the total imports.
From the perspective of import flow, in the first quarter, China's import market for herbicides was Malaysia, Germany, and Indonesia. The import volume was 3,444 tons, 1,092 tons, and 1,068 tons, respectively, a year-on-year decrease of 45.13%, 23.99%, and an increase of 83.3%. The import amount was 9.83 million U.S. dollars, 20.71 million U.S. dollars, and 48.41 million U.S. dollars, respectively. The year-on-year decrease was 48.56%, 23.99% and 87.13%.
