Government incentives to actively eliminate outdated production capacity In 2007, the central government set up a special fund to reward enterprises in underdeveloped regions for eliminating backward production capacity. In 2010, the state initially arranged for 4 billion yuan in award funds. The Ministry of Finance stated that in the arrangement and use of funds, it is necessary to strengthen communication and consultation and give full play to the role of the competent department of the industry. Local industrial and informatization authorities should consult with the financial departments to make good use of reward funds. At the same time, local governments must raise funds in accordance with the requirements of the State Council. The funds support the elimination of backward production capacity in the region. Based on the actual conditions in the region, Guangdong Province will reward enterprises that have actively eliminated backward production capacity. For enterprises that actively eliminate backward production capacity, it is necessary to do a good job in the collection and preservation of outdated production capacity data and data for review by related departments.
