Wang Ning's mission: Will be responsible for the operation of Cummins China light, medium and heavy joint ventures

Cummins Inc. announced that its current vice president Cummins and general manager of Dongfeng Cummins Engine Co., Ltd. Wang Ning has officially served as vice president of Cummins and general manager of Cummins China's light, heavy-duty engine joint venture operations.

Wang Ning will coordinate the management of Cummins' four existing light, medium and heavy engine joint ventures in China (including Dongfeng Cummins, Foton Cummins, Xi'an Cummins and Guangxi Cummins) to better promote cooperation and collaboration among joint ventures. At the same time, in order to make better use of big data technology to promote the implementation of end-user-oriented tactics, Wang Ning will also lead China's big data / car networking business.

Wang Ning will bring rich industrial management and manufacturing experience to new positions. During more than eight years as the general manager of Futian Cummins and general manager of Dongfeng Cummins, Wang Ning has played a vital role in the establishment, operation and management of the Cummins engine manufacturing base. He promoted the institutionalization of processes and improvement of various functions and laid a solid foundation for the continued development of joint ventures. He successfully led the joint venture company to establish a production manufacturing capability tailored to a diverse customer base. In addition, his extensive experience in managing joint ventures and cooperation will give him more opportunities to work in new positions and to increase business operations in China.

Prior to joining Cummins, Wang Ning worked for Schindler China for more than a decade. He joined Schindler in 1991 and worked until 2003. The business area covers production operations, marketing, quality management and engineering technology. In 2003, Wang Ning joined the U.S.-owned company Shanghai Ametek Motor Co., Ltd. as general manager. In 2005, Wang Ning returned to Schindler as the executive vice president of Schindler China Ltd. and President of Schindler Elevator Company in Suzhou.

Prior to joining Schindler, Wang Ning was engaged in scientific research (1986-1990) at the Institute of Transportation Technology, University of Stuttgart, Germany, where he was an assistant researcher.

Wang Ning holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's degree in mechanical engineering from Taiyuan Heavy Machinery Institute, and a doctorate in mechanical engineering from the University of Stuttgart, Germany.
