Little Giant's machine tool introduces high-speed and high-precision full-function CNC lathe

Japan's Yamazaki Mazak's wholly-owned factory, Little Giant Machine Tool Co., Ltd., has launched a new high-speed and high-precision full-function CNC lathe QTN 100-II, which will be produced at Little Giant in September this year.
The introduction of the QTN 100-II has enabled the specifications of Little Giant's CNC lathe products to cover specifications from 6" to 15" chucks.
According to the Little Giant, the lathe has better performance in terms of speed, accuracy, product functionality, operational amenity and space efficiency. It can handle the processing of high-volume and high-precision parts such as auto parts. It is also suitable for processing parts such as automobile gears and gears.
The QTN 100-II with advanced electric spindle technology has a spindle speed of 6000r/min, which can adapt to low-speed heavy-duty cutting to high-speed and high-power cutting. It uses smooth high-gain servo control and high-performance AC servo motor to achieve Fast and vibration-free acceleration and deceleration, the rapid movement speed of the X and Z axes is 30m/min and 33m/min respectively.
The machine is equipped with a high-speed and high-precision 12-bit turret. The high-speed tool exchange greatly improves the production efficiency. The turret single step is only 0.18 seconds. Moreover, the intelligent tailstock driven by the servo motor can not only automatically and accurately control the position, but also automatically adjust the thrust of the tailstock.
The QTN 100-II is equipped with a tool measuring device that enables the automation of functional parts such as machining of complete sets of parts and automatic workpiece collectors by using a bar feeder. In addition, the machine is also equipped with MAZAK's latest MAZATROL MATRIX CNC system, which adopts human-machine dialogue programming mode, with functions such as interference check, intelligent safety protection, vibration suppression and sound reminder.

Plastic car exterior parts refer to front and rear bumper moulds, fog lamp moulds, and grilles and all plastic accessories, are requesting high quality with hardened steel 1.2738 or Finkl P20 hard steel in order to guarantee specified mould life such as 1000000shots. Plastic injection material is PP or ABS as per customer's requirement. Before we ship bumper mould to you, we will have bumper mould buy-off in house together with you, and we must make official at least three mould tryouts and 2000 empty cycle for mould to check if mould function is ok in a certain time.

Normally, you and we attend the validation procedure together and sign off after checking. What we are checking usually are as follows:

  1. Compatibility with Injection Machine to be used
  2. Is size of the mould ( Leight* width* Height ) correct?
  3. Is weight of the mould is correct?
  4. Are lifting eyebolts fully seated on the mold and not interfering with mold action?
  5. Are all transportation bars installed and in correct color as you request?
  6. Are knock-out holes for mechanical ejection and the layout correct as designed?
  7. Is electric box wired correctly as per injection machine standard?
  8. Are dimensions of locating ring correct?
  9. Is radius and orifice diameter of sprue bush correct?
  10. Are clamping features correct?
  11. Is the mold construction compatible with robot gripping if applicable to take off part?

What we will also inspect mould material and heart treatment as follows:


  1. Is any welding used on mold? Is welding process correct for the steel used?
  2. Have all mold plates been stamped with markings?
  3. Provide the heat treatment certificate and hardness for all applicable mold components
  4. Are moving parts nitrided? Provide nitride certificate.
