Japan has developed the world's most powerful laser up to two hundred trillion watts

According to foreign media reports, a research team from Japan's Osaka University recently developed the most energetic new laser in the world so far. The laser belongs to the second type of Petawat pulsed laser with an energy of 2,000 trillion watts. If you have no concept of 2000 trillion, then we can tell you in a more intuitive way, that is watts! However, this super-powerful pulsed laser lasted only about one trillionth of a second (1000000000000th of a second).

The laser was named LFEX (Laser Rapid Ignition Test) and took place up to 300 feet in length. Interestingly, although LFEX lasers have a particularly large amount of energy, it does not need to be particularly complicated to produce.

If you remember physics in high school, you know that electrical energy (watts) is a kind of energy, and because the team at Osaka University has been able to keep the laser for a short period of time, achieving such an amazingly high amount of energy requires only a few hundred joules energy of. Researchers through specialized equipment, through a series of lenses on the original laser constantly zooming, and ultimately formed this super powerful new laser.

"There is fierce competition in the world to improve the performance of lasers and our ultimate goal is to be able to deliver 10 megawatts of laser power," said Junju Kawanaka, associate professor of electrical engineering at Osaka University, in a statement. And this new laser indeed left us a very deep impression, as scientific engineering is also of great significance. As for how the future practical application, remains to be studied.
