Four-level pattern expects a strong auto parts industry

The 2nd?2007 China Auto Parts Industry Chain Development Forum, hosted by China Economic Herald and hosted by World Economic Future Investment Consulting Co., Ltd., was held in Beijing recently. At the forum, the participating experts stated that the parts and components system that supports the development of China’s auto industry has been formed, but China’s auto parts industry is still large and not strong, mainly reflected in the first, in terms of core technologies such as electronic components and There is a certain gap between the international advanced level; Second, there is a large room for adjustment in the organizational structure of China's auto parts industry. It is still necessary to make great efforts to improve the group development and modular supply.

According to the general report of the “Long-Term Development Trends and Countermeasures for China’s Automobile Industry” organized by the Department of Industrial Policy of the National Development and Reform Commission in October 2006, the number of domestic vehicles from the current 30 million to 100 million tens of millions by 2010 Vehicle. After the United States, Europe and Japan will become one of the world's top four. At this forum, some experts stated that to achieve the “four-level structure” goal, the development of auto parts also needs to become the fourth-level of auto parts companies in the world.

Four levels

In this forum, Director Li Wanli of the Department of Industry Policy of the National Development and Reform Commission introduced the "Report on the Medium and Long-Term Development Trends and Countermeasures of China's Automobile Industry," organized by the Department of Industrial Policy of the National Development and Reform Commission, and introduced China's future 15 years. The goal that the automobile industry should develop is to seize the opportunity and become a powerful automobile manufacturing country. Specifically, by the year 2010, the number of domestic cars will range from the current 30 million to 100 million tens of millions. After the US, Europe and Japan, China will become one of the top 4 in the world; in 2020, China’s automobile output will reach 25% of the global share. About 20 million vehicles are produced and sold annually, of which exports (including overseas production) reach 30%, and exports of parts and components reach 100 billion U.S. dollars. The value-added of the auto industry accounts for 3% of GDP, driving the development of related industries and making the automotive industry The contribution rate of related industries to the national economy exceeds 12%.

Like Li Wanli, many experts expressed optimistic forecasts on the development of China’s auto industry. Zhang Xiaoyun, chairman of the China Automotive Engineering Society and director of the Information Resources Department of the National Information Center, expressed that China’s auto market will this year With 850 to 9 million vehicles, it will rank second in the world’s second-largest auto market after the United States. Experts believe that the basis for all this is the development of the auto parts industry. Zhang Xiaokai said that the development of parts and components is the basic factor for whether China can be a large country or even a strong country.

The future of cars belongs to spare parts

At the forum, Zhang Yong, director of the Department of Early Warning of the Bureau of Industrial Injury Investigation of the Ministry of Commerce, introduced to the participants a very interesting idea. Taking the development of computers as an example, Zhang Yong said that even in the early 1990s, computers or professionals were able to handle the tools used, but in less than 20 years, a person with a little computer knowledge could go to Zhongguancun on his own basis. Need to work in your own life, come up with computers with different configurations. Zhang Yong said that he believes that one day the car will be like a computer. Consumers can buy parts and components to assemble according to their preferences. When the reporter expressed doubts: The development of the automobile has been more than 100 years. It has not been realized yet. Zhang Yong said that this requires technological breakthroughs, especially breakthroughs in parts and components technology, and of course the unification of parts and components production standards.

Although Zhang Yong’s idea was bold, after interviewing several experts, the reporter also felt that this idea was not impossible.

At the forum, Zhang Xiaozheng, Chairman of the China Association of Automotive Engineers, told delegates about his experiences in Japan and other auto developed countries. Zhang Xiaolu said that at present, in individual automobile plants, there is no stamping shop, because the professional body parts factory can directly provide the stamped body for the vehicle manufacturer as required. Zhang Xiaokai believes that the development of the car body industry will increase the number of similar automobile plants. This also shows that the development of auto parts will determine the development of auto vehicles, and that modularization and specialization are inevitable trends in the future development of auto parts and components. . Zhang Xiaoyu's introduction can provide Zhang Yong with some realistic basis for his vision: Since with the development of modularization and specialization, auto OEMs are increasingly just an assembly workshop - and of course, a symbol of a brand. Well, perhaps one day, consumers will not need an automaker to complete the final assembly process of the car. Instead, they only need to buy each part and then tighten it with a standard “bolt”.

However, Zhang Yong's idea is always a vision without a timetable, but from which we can see the direction of the development of components - specialized production and modular supply.

Breakthroughs in technology and changes in organizational structure

Specific to our country, how to achieve professional production and modular supply, according to the reporter's interview at this forum, you can summarize such a few, first of all is a technological breakthrough, followed by the development of related industries, again is zero Changes in the organizational structure of parts companies. And the above three are interrelated and interrelated.

How to break through the technology? Zhang Xiaokai said that as an auto parts company, first, it is necessary to develop simultaneously. The parts companies must strengthen the technology convergence with the auto manufacturers, participate in the middle of the technology development of the auto factories, and upgrade the entire vehicle fleet. At the same time, parts and components companies must also be updated synchronously. Second, system development, auto parts companies not only need to understand their own products, but also understand the relevant technology of the product, master and have a complete set of system support for the development of parts and components, and realize the systematic cooperation development of the industrial chain of parts and components. Zhang Xiaoxuan also said that in terms of the technology of China’s auto parts and components, it already has a good foundation and has formed a production and development system that can support China’s auto parts. However, in auto parts and components, China still has a The big gap, our auto parts companies should invest more manpower and resources in this area.

How about the development of related industries? Li Wanli summed up three aspects in this regard: related materials, related equipment and logistics. Li Wanli said that in terms of related materials, China's auto body-specific steel sheets, EPDM rubber and other specialized materials as well as high-level specialized processing equipment are relatively backward; related equipment, the automotive industry has become the consumer of CNC machine tools, but one China has the most advanced flexible production line in the world. On the other side, the proportion of CNC machine tools for a considerable number of auto parts companies in China is less than 1%, and the overall level is relatively backward. In terms of logistics, China’s logistics costs are extremely high, such as China’s parts exports or The proportion of imports, domestic transportation costs and foreign transportation costs can reach 4 to 1, which has huge room for improvement.

How does the organizational structure change? Xiaohe San is still the current feature of China's parts and components industry. The two preconditions for professional production and modular supply are that automobile companies must have a certain scale and industrial clusters must form parts and assemblies. As for how auto parts companies become bigger, experts suggest that in addition to changing the current status of China's auto parts companies in affiliating with auto factories, China’s auto parts companies need to go out and continue to participate in international competitions, and they must join or acquire domestic and international mergers and acquisitions. Other parts companies.

Director Li Wanli of the Department of Industry Policy of the National Development and Reform Commission also expressed the importance of modular supply. He said that the concept of a 0.5-tier supplier has now emerged internationally, compared with the first-tier component suppliers. , Grade 0.5 suppliers provide more modular products, and domestic component manufacturers should take note of this international automotive industry trend.
