“Small nuclear reactor power generation technology and its demonstration application” passed the project acceptance

Recently, the National Science and Technology Support Program “Small Nuclear Reactor Power Generation Technology and Its Demonstration Application” project acceptance meeting was held in Wuhan. The High and New Technology Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology organized 13 well-known experts from Xi'an Jiaotong University, Harbin Institute of Technology and China Institute of Atomic Energy. The acceptance expert group conducted an acceptance review of the project. The acceptance expert group agreed that the project completed the tasks stipulated in the plan and agreed to pass the acceptance.

The project “Small Nuclear Reactor Power Generation Technology and Its Demonstration Application” was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2013 to be included in the National Science and Technology Support Program, and was undertaken by Wuhan Second Ship Design Research Institute and Zhongkehua Nuclear Power Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. During the project implementation period, the project team carried out research on overall technology, reactor and primary circuit system technology, research on secondary circuit and power generation system technology, and operation support technology for small marine nuclear power plants with 2×100MW power generation and 2×25MW power generation. It has broken through key technologies such as marine environmental adaptability, platform safety, radiation protection and monitoring, and comprehensive control of nuclear power plants, laying a technical foundation for marine nuclear power platform demonstration projects.
