How to detect the opening performance of fruit glass cans

Abstract : Canned packaging is an effective method for the long-term preservation of fruits and plays an important role in daily life. This article looks at can opening performance issues that are of general interest to consumers. Labthink 's NJY-20 torque meter was used to test the rotational torque required to open canned fruit samples. The basic process of testing and the testing principles of the equipment were described in detail. The equipment parameters, etc., can be referenced by the company when it detects the opening performance of the unscrewing bottle type packaging.

1 , the meaning

Canned fruit originated in France and was developed to extend the shelf life of fruit. However, in the production process, due to different degrees of exhaust, different degrees of cold and heat content of the seal, or improper control of the capping process, glass bottles, bottle cap quality defects and other factors exist, it will lead to endless opening of the fruit cans In the same way, even excessive opening force may seriously affect the consumption of consumers, or the opening force is too small, causing problems such as poor can sealing. Therefore, it is an effective measure to improve the quality of products by strengthening the detection of the opening performance of canned cans.

2 , the status quo

The detection process of this article is based on the American Standard ASTM D2063 "Test Method for Torque Retention of Screw Caps for Measuring Packages". At present, no test standards have been issued on the rotational torque of metal caps for glass cans.

4 , test equipment

The opening performance of the swing-open bottle cap is characterized by the rotational torque value. 4.1 Test principle

Using a torsion angle phase difference sensor, a strain bridge detection method is adopted to realize the monitoring of the electrical signal of the torsion of the elastic shaft during testing of the sample, thereby testing the opening torque value of the cap or the size of the locking value.

4.2 Scope of application

Bottled containers: Suitable for bottled packaging medicines, foods, bottle caps, open torque value test, such as bottles, beverage bottles and so on. Hose packaging products: Suitable for hose packaging food, medicine, cosmetics, etc. Bottle cap locking, opening torque value test, such as eye drops, hand cream, shoe polish ( threaded connection ) and so on. Extended application: Suitable for tightening and opening torque values ​​of nuts and bolts, or locking and opening torque values of bottle caps and thermos flasks ( threaded connections ) . Standard: This equipment can meet many national and international standards, such as GB/T 17876 , ASTM D 2063 , ASTM D3198 , ASTM D3474 , BB/T 0025 , BB/T 0034, etc. The torque parameters of the equipment are 20 Nm , 40 Nm , and 50 Nm . The accuracy is Class 1 and the system resolution is 0.001 Nm . Gripping range 5 mm to 170 mm (diameter). Provides dual test modes of opening force and locking force. The measurement peak is automatically maintained to ensure that the test results are accurately recorded. 5 , the test process

(1) Turn on the power switch of the test equipment and set the test mode to " opening torque " and the number of samples and other parameter information.

(2) The test sample is clamped to the test equipment.

(3) Click on the test option and unscrew the vial cap by hand. The device automatically records the maximum torque value during the unscrewing of the cap, which is the rotational torque of the sample.

6 , test results

The tests were detected rotational torque of three sample bottles, canned fruit, the test results were 4.289 Nm, 4.273 Nm, 4.311 Nm .

7. Conclusion

The magnitude of the rotational torque value has an important influence on the sealing performance and ease of use of the unscrewing bottle cap packaging container. In this paper , the rotational torque value of the canned glass bottle package was tested with the NLY-20 torque meter.
