"Full-automatic high-purity helium spectrometer system development" started in Wuhan, Hubei

[China Instrument Network Instrument R&D] On November 26th, the key project of the National Key R&D Program for the development of major scientific instrument equipment, the “Development of Fully Automatic High Purity Helium Spectrometer System,” was launched in Wuhan, Hubei Province.
High-purity helium spectrometer is mainly used in the fields of nuclear recognition, reactor monitoring, radiation environment monitoring, nuclear technology application and nuclear safety. It is currently the most advanced spectrometer. According to reports, high-purity germanium spectrometers rely on imports for a long time because of the production process and complexity of high purity germanium single crystals and detectors. With the rapid development of China's nuclear energy development, nuclear technology applications, and nuclear scientific research, the demand for high-purity xenon spectrometers in China will increase. Developing high-purity xenon spectrometers with independent intellectual property rights is imminent.
According to project leader He Gaokui, a researcher at the China Atomic Energy Research Institute, the three-year special study mainly has three purposes: First, it will break through the key technology of high-purity germanium single crystal drawing to form a high-purity germanium single crystal with stable performance and mass production. Preparation capacity; secondly, to break through the key technologies of high-purity germanium detectors to form a stable, mass-produced, high-purity germanium spectrometer, to realize the engineering and industrialization of the spectrometer; and to replace imports, to achieve nuclear safety testing. The key technology of the equipment is autonomous and controllable.
It is reported that the project was jointly undertaken by Shenzhen University, China Institute of Atomic Energy, East China Institute of Technology, Wuhan Second Ship Design Institute, China Radiation Protection Research Institute, Wuhan University, and Hubei Fangyuan Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd.
