An explosion occurred in a chemical plant in Putian, Fujian
At about 4 pm on November 26th, a chemical plant exploded in Dongzhuang Town, Xiuyu District, Putian City, Fujian Province. Nearby residents reported that the area near the site of the incident was strongly felt and the smoke was thick. According to the latest information from the Propaganda Department of Putian City Committee, the incident was caused by the fire of the heat transfer oil pump in the boiler room of Zhongjin New Materials Co., Ltd. The fire has been extinguished and no one has died.
On November 25th, the Fujian Provincial Environmental Protection Agency notified the province of the fourth batch of environmental safety hazards in 2015. The chemical plant was named because it did not install denitrification facilities and ordered that it be quickly rectified.
At 4:17 pm on the 26th, the heat pump of the boiler plant of the chemical plant caught fire. After more than one hour of fighting, the open flame was extinguished at approximately 7:00 pm. The accident did not result in the death of the person. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
