Renault Motors finally has a timetable for entering Wuhan. Yesterday learned that Renault Motors is expected to officially form a foundation in China in March this year.
At present, Dongfeng Passenger Vehicle, Shenlong, Dongfeng Honda, Shanghai General Motors and other automobile manufacturers have set up eight factories in Wuhan. After Renault joined, Wuhan's 9th passenger car factory was born and became the largest passenger car plant in the country.
According to reports, Renault Motors will jointly build a new auto plant with Dongfeng Motor. In the first phase, it will invest 7.2 billion yuan. It plans to lay the foundation on March 20 and start construction in May. It is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2015.
More than half a month ago, the website of the Provincial Environmental Protection Agency publicized the “Dongfeng Renault Automobile Co., Ltd. 150,000 passenger vehicle construction project†and mentioned that this new vehicle factory was built in the Golden Port Industrial Park in Hanyang District, including welding and stamping. The four major workshops and engine production lines for painting and assembly, as well as R&D centers and supporting public and auxiliary environmental protection projects, mainly produce SUVs and MPVs.
According to sources, Renault also plans to build a second plant in Hanzhou in 2017. By then, it will have a total production capacity of 300,000 vehicles and 600,000 engines.
Yesterday, the person in charge of the Goldenport Industrial Park in Wuhan Development Zone confirmed that about 5000 mu of land will be used for Renault's production and supporting purposes. Currently, it is being demolished and the site is in progress. The first-phase land can be basically guaranteed. In the planning of the Wuhan Development Zone, the Goldenport Industrial Park, which was jointly built with Hanyang, is the focus of the new year's development.
According to national regulations, the new auto vehicle project needs the approval of the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Commerce, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It is reported that Dongfeng Renault has applied for the National Development and Reform Commission. At present, the National Development and Reform Commission has not yet publicly issued the “passâ€. However, relevant sources revealed that "it is very likely that construction will be approved in the first quarter of this year."
The 2013 government work report stated that the new year will further promote the industrial double-increase plan, implement key industry clusters and industry chain cultivation projects, strengthen the whole vehicle, make bigger arrangements, and actively introduce key components such as engines, transmissions, and automotive electronics. The company promoted the signing of major projects such as Dongfeng Renault and transmissions, improved the automobile industry chain, and promoted the output value of the automobile and parts industries to exceed 200 billion yuan.
