“One Belt, One Road†Weichai ancestors to build a factory in India has been praised by the provincial government
On November 19, 2015, Wang Shujian, deputy governor of Shandong Province, who was visiting Maharashtra State of India (Mabang), led the Shandong Provincial Government’s economic and trade delegation and made a special trip to visit Shandong Heavy Industries India. Wang Shujian expressed his appreciation for the development of Indian companies and hoped that Indian companies would set up benchmarks for overseas factories and provide experience for more Chinese companies to develop in India.

During the visit to the Indian factory, the clean and orderly production site of the Indian company praised Wang Shujian and his party. Under the entrustment of Chairman Tan Xuguang, Deputy General Manager of Shandong Heavy Industry and General Manager of Indian Company Xu Zichun reported to the Wang Shujian and his party in detail on the development history, business situation and future development plans of Indian companies.
Wang Shujian pointed out that China-India friendship is a major trend, and Shandong Province has established friendly and cooperative relations with India's Mabang, and bilateral economic and trade exchanges will be more frequent. In the face of the current situation, Chinese enterprises must go out and transform and upgrade. The developing countries in the “One Belt and One Road†issue are just some of the problems we have faced. China’s technology is easy to use, practical and applicable to them. In this regard, Weichai took a step earlier and took an advantage.
When we learned that the Indian companies are currently operating normally and the Chinese and Indian cultures are further integrated, Wang Shujian fully affirmed the results of Weichai’s overseas operations and assessed Weichai as having a strong sense of competition. He said: “Weichai must represent the image of large Chinese companies. It is necessary to copy excellent corporate culture to India, identify local culture, integrate with local mainstream society, local employees, and the market to form a new distinctive culture."
At the same time, Wang Shujian emphasized that innovation of business model is more important than technological innovation. We do not have to stick to the traditional business model in China. We must seek for innovation and lead the trend while making a good market and cultural brand.
Finally, Wang Shujian proposed new requirements for the development of Indian companies. He said that China-India exchanges and cooperation are the major environment. In the future, more and more Chinese companies will invest in India. We hope that Weichai will be a good benchmark and provide experience, and will fulfill more social responsibilities at the same time as the company develops.
