Ethylene equipment currently has 16 ethylene production enterprises and 18 sets of equipment in China, with an annual output of 7.3 million tons. It is estimated that in 2010, China's ethylene production capacity will reach 14.5 million tons, domestic demand is 25 million tons; domestic demand will increase to 40 million tons by 2020. To this end, in 2010, China plans to increase the number of ethylene production enterprises to 23, with 32 sets of production facilities, and the production capacity will increase to 12 million to 18 million tons; in 2020, the production capacity will increase to 26 million tons. Therefore, in the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" and the next 10 years, the state will build and renovate more than 20 sets of million-ton ethylene plants.
The localization of PTA equipment for terephthalic acid equipment is still very difficult. In the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" and the next 10 years, China plans to set up more than a dozen sets of PTA projects of 600,000 to 1 million tons/year, and most of them must strive to achieve localization. In addition, the state has approved Shenhua Inner Mongolia coal direct liquefaction project with a total scale of 5 million tons/year. Among them, the 2000-ton hydrogenation reactor and the 120-ton large-thrust reciprocating compressor are among the best in the world. The demand for large-scale air separation equipment is also very large, and the pumps and valves used by the project must be operated under the conditions of high temperature, high pressure, corrosion resistance and solid particle scouring, which is extremely difficult. If the demonstration project is successful, the national coal-to-liquids project will be gradually pushed forward, and the demand for fluid machinery will be very large.
In addition, the West-East Gas Pipeline has been completed and put into operation in 2004. To ensure downstream gas supply, a new 5 billion m3/year natural gas expansion project has been implemented, and more than 10 gas will be added to the main line.
